Col de Boselia Hike from La Brigue
This hike to the Col de Boselia from La Brigue is one of the Roya Valley’s easier hikes. It’s a great hike in early spring or late fall as most of the path lies in the sun. Parts of the hike downhill from the Col can get icy in winter though.
From La Brigue take sentier B49 which is across the bridge in the direction of Morignole. Just about 10 metres up from the parking, is B50 which climbs on a rocky path and then becomes a ridge.
Facing southwest it’s quite sunny but with beautiful views down to La Brigue and the Boselia valley.
Climb to B285 (denivilé 340m) at Col de Boselia and turn left. At this point, the trail is not well-marked. Look for the rocky path that heads up rather than wandering along the many sheep trails. Just after this balise there are picnicking spots.
The wide track downhill after the Col is shady with pines and affords a nice view of Tende.
Easy walking Turn left after a while to take GR52A which is a narrow path that winds around the Col Lubaira.
It’s rocky but a gentle slope. This is also quite sunny but pretty. The whole walk took about 3 1/2 hours plus another 20 minutes or so to walk through town back to the parking lot. For birds, I heard a cuckoo and a “tetu”. The vegetation is mostly scrub.
