Left KL for Penang via a six hour but comfortable bus ride. Stayed in Bayview hotel, dining at rooftop revolving restaurant. Malays, Chinese, Indians living in cheerful harmony surrounded by restored colonial architecture like the E&O hotel.
Kuala Lumpur; Day Three
We tore ourselves away from KL’s traffic (every hour is rush hour), heat (sauna! free!) and food (lunch time is all the time) to visit the Butterfly Garden and the Bird Garden (with monkey)
Kuala Lumpur: Day Two
After a nice sleep at the Dorset Regency, we headed to the Central Market to examine the finest Malaysian handicrafts housed in colonial style shops. Rain towards the end of the afternoon chased us into a shopping center.

Arrived and stopped to see the National Mosque en route from the airport.

Open air banquet at famous Alor street: Chinese, Indian, Malaysian, fresh seafood etc.
